Marvin Windows profitsharing was reduced in 2008Dec 21 2008 4:49PM
Associated Press Warroad, Minn. (AP) The housing slump is being blamed for fewer profits this year for Warroad-based Marvin Windows and Doors. At the company's annual profit-sharing meeting on Saturday, the company announced that about $6.4 million will be distributed among its nearly 3,400 employees. That means checks will average just under $1,900. The profit-sharing number last year was about double at $13.1 million. The profits are distributed to workers at Marvin Windows and Doors facilities in Warroad, Grafton, N.D., and Baker, Ore. Marvin officials say the company faces "unprecedented challenges in the marketplace" but will do its best in 2009 to position itself for future success. Marvin is a privately held maker of made-to-order wood and clad wood windows and doors. Information from: Grand Forks Herald, http://www.grandforksherald.com (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
